For the Tallboy C R2x, Santa Cruz created a mid-grade 2x build with brake and drivetrain components from Shimano and Race Face, and capable shock absorption from Fox. For the Carbon C frame, Santa Cruz used a slightly different construction method to keep the cost down, but the stiffness, durability, and strength are identical to the top-level Carbon CC.
