Giro's Switchblade™ MIPS is an ASTM DH certified full face helmet with a removable chinbar. Everything about the Switchblade is optimised for the descent which is why it’s certified to CPSC, EN-1078 and ASTM-1952-DH standards with and without the chinbar.
Speaking of the chinbar, it is easy to remove by pushing the buttons under the chinbar, rotate up, and remove. It is just as easy to reinstall too.
The helmet features the Roc Loc® Air DH fit system, which has a bumper around the dial to prevent unintentional adjustments if your helmet comes into contact with your backpack or neck brace. When the chinbar is removed, Wind Tunnel™ cheek pad ventilation adds cooling power as you start to climb. The full-cut style gives this helmet an aggressive look providing ASTM certified coverage even if you do not use the chinbar.
