For comfort and old-school style, there is the chromoly frame and fork, swept-back handlebars together with gum wall 47mm balloon tyres. You’ll even notice the customised shifter, designed to look like old friction shifters from the 80’s.
Where this bike does depart from the old school is in the high tech drivetrain. The shifter is indexed for the Shimano 8 speed Nexus internal hub. It's easy to use, being able to change gears whilst stationary or whilst moving.
The whole set up is almost maintenance-free too. Being a sealed unit the nexus hub requires minimal servicing, so too the anti-corrosion chain and hydraulic disc brakes.
When you add these to the fenders, make it rain day friendly too. And if you plan to go long, two sets of bottle bosses and mounts for both front and rear racks let you equip your new Marin with everything you need for all-day adventures.
