Araya originates from Japan and began in 1903 when its founder Kumakichi Araya succeeded in creating the first wooden wheel rim in Japan. The company has since then grew on and the spirit of Kumakichi Araya of not fearing failure and unwavering commitment stays in the company to this day.

The ADX-240CF is an extremely rare rim and were produced in the early 1990s and were discontinued after 1995. They are the only carbon fibre rims manufactured by Araya till date aside from the Disc and Trispoke wheels.
