I walked into Performance Cycle looking for a new Bike. To my surprise, the owner turned out to be extremely rude and arrogant. I have never heard a shopkeeper telling me “I only sell Bikes worth Thousands and he is wasting his time with me”. I felt surprised & insulted, but later realized my experience was consistent with other reviews on him on this forum. PLEASE AVOID !!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS
Extremely rude, snarky and unhelpful store owner.

Grossly overcharged me to get the tube in my tyre replaced, and as it was in the trunk of my car on the way home from the shop, it popped violently. Took it back to the shop and wasn't offered an apology or reasonable explanation. Thankfully it happened inside the trunk of my car.

On a separate occasion, I took my niece's bike to him 2 months after purchasing it from him as the chain started to sag despite her barely using the bike. He demanded I pay for labor AFTER he spent 5 minutes tightening something on the bicycle that he sold me. He essentially started screaming at me when I said he probably should've told me he was going to charge me before he commenced service. His response was "okay i'll undo whatever fixes i've made and you don't have to pay". After I made payment, I noticed that the bike still wasn't completely fixed and I pointed it out to his wife. By this point, he had retreated to the back room of his shop and he didn't even come back out to try and see what he may have missed, he just told his wife to void the transaction and told her to tell me to call the bicycle's manufacturer instead.

Do yourself a favour and patronize the bicycle shops that are actually deserving of your business.

Today a customer bought a Btwin bike to us with a damaged rear de and hanger and possibly chain cause it was totally bend and damaged due to possible accidents and poor drive system used on Btwin bike

We change the rear de and straighten the hanger plus change a shifter cable but we did not change the chain as we are trying to help save some cost

When customer collect his bike, and tested it by pedaling backwards instead of forward and the chain skip. This is due to chain damaged as well together with the rear de but customer didn’t want to change the chain and claimed that We are playing with words. Since customer have no trust in our service we refunded $$ 100% to him with no questions ask and of course we took back our parts

It is not fair to down grade our shop just because customer think we are playing with words. The truth is his Btwin bikes need to change the rear de and chain and straighten hanger. and shifter cable

Secondly one cannot expect the drive train to perform smoothly as when is new or before the bike incident

Finally if customer think we are playing with words instead of listening to our expert advise then the trust between customer is lost. Therefore we did not proceed further but refunded100% money back to customer.

Avoid this place at all costs.
I went down today to get a rear derailleur replaced as mine appeared to be damaged. The owner gave me 2 options from the same brand saying the first one is good and the second one is better, not being a hardcore cyclist I went for the cheaper one.
When we came back to pick up the bike we paid right away however we realised the chain was very dry so we ask if he could put some lube on it, to which he replied that his lube is too good so he needs to charge customers for this.... in any decent shop in Singapore they do it for free since you’re actually buying a piece directly connected to the chain. He finally agreed to do it reluctantly...
However when I tried the bicycle I realised the chain would go off and get jammed the minute I’d stop pedaling.
We brought this up to him, then he started saying I should have gone for the more expensive option.
Then when I argued this wasn’t a proper reason to sell us something that doesn’t work, he decided to blame the chain which wasn’t adapted to the bicycle, to which I replied I had it installed by the manufacturer itself and this was never a problem before, then he started saying the wheel size was wrong... Then in the end he started getting very aggressive, dismantled everything again while leaving some parts of the chain on the floor and asked nastily to his wife to void our transaction...
I’m still shocked by the level of bad faith displayed by this man... even his wife apologised...
