Circa 1982 German commuter | Hercules Pegasus Leichtlaufrad | MAKE AND MODEL: Hercules Pegasus Leichtlaufrad (circa 1982) - A German Hercules (not made during the British BSA-Hercules bicycle and motorcycle company period) | FRAME: Lugged Chromoly (62cm) | WHEEL RIMS: Van Schothorst Stainless steel | TIRES: Semperit 32-622 (700 x 32C) white-walled they've gotten old and started to crack on the walls. I've taken them out for keepsake and have replaced them with blackwalls; changes the look of the bike immensely. I'm hoping to get white-walled tire replacements from Schwalbe - Delta or Road Cruisers. | GEARS: Sachs-Huret Commander 6-gang cassette; 2 speed Orbit HT internal hub gears | BRAKES: Sachs-Huret drum brakes front and back, Weinmann brake handles | MUDGUARDS: Stainless steel | LIGHTS: Orion dynamo (fwd and aft lights) tire dynamo | SADDLE: Lepper (Holland), leather, double-railed sprung | PEDALS: Hercules rubber pedals| HANDLEBAR grips: Hercules | Rear Rack: Steco with spring trap | It's a sweet city commuter bike. | I ride it around town for my meetings (trips 5 km) and commute to and from home/ other work locations on my SURLY Long Haul Trucker (a metamorphed Trek 7300fx). |
