Found this old track bike at sungei road.. Decided to buy it and fix it up into a commuting bike. Condition ain't that great when i see it.1st thing i did is to give the bike a scrub down. Open up the hub and repacked the bearings with new grease. After the 1st ride, decided that there are much to be improve.No front brakes was a major issue cause i can't ride like bike messengers on crack. was unable to mount any brakes on the original. Took em out and replaced them with a 2nd hand colnago fork. Took the narrow drop bar which is extremely uncomfortable away and replaced them with a wider chopped and inverted dropbar. 1st ride on the road, found it to be extremely fast and easy to peddle. The ride was smooth: think its the tubulars. Since i'm commuting, i might just leave the the gearings alone for now. It might also be impossibe to find chainrings replacements for the cranks anyway.Riding to work on this fixie is really enjoyable, it handles well and steering is really responsive. Climbing was'nt really really hard on those slightly upslope area. Uping the cadence from the foot of hill does bring up the momentem, after which the rear wheel just seems throw the whole bike forward and set the cranks in motion. In short, u can really feel the efficiency of the fixed gear while climbing. downhill was another story though...Update: The bike is back from powdercoating..
