Time sure flies and I've already had this bike for nearly a year..massive component changes have taken place on this good ol' frame eversince! First off, I've converted to SRAM X.0 Gripgshifters; it dumps gears in a hurry especially with sudden altitude and/or terrain changes..Second, Magura Martas absolutely rules! The braking power is really unrivalled to anything else i've tried, with the exception of Formula Oro Puro; but I just didn't like the way the brake levers were shaped when I gripped it...Third, and my most major change..a custom wheelset!! Yes, I've given up my Xmax XL and decided to go for a custom combo of DT Swiss 4.2D rims, CK ISO hubs, and DT Comp spokes..worked out to be lighter than my XLs without any sacrifice on stiffness..The rest of it are minor changes; such as upgrading my front D and crankset to Shimano XTR grade, Extralite seatpost, Ritchey stem, and new MaxxLite tyres. It's definately a race-grade bike now...not too light that it becomes too twitchy and not too heavy that it bogs me down. The last scale reading showed 10.5kg with my heaviest tyres (Maxxis Medusa) The "Raiden" is now a born-again ride!!!! HOOYAH!!!!
