With 50 years of bike manufacturing experience under its belt, Oyama is certainly worth your buck. The Oyama Pro Dazzle-M990HD is designed for compact foldable action: it sports a 20” Alloy Frame with LM3 joint foldable in the centre of the stem with a Spherical Rolling (SR) joint. Its size when folded is a mere L 84 cm x W 36 cm x H 62 cm to conveniently tuck in a small corner of your home or office. A clean white frame with the “Oyama” brand printed on, neatly complements its black componentry.

Componentry (groupset +seat)

The Shimano Altus combines its prestige with Microshift, giving you a 27 speed 11-32T cassette powered by a Prowheel Atia 52/42/30T crankset. The shifters are Microshift’s R9/Marvo 3*9speed. This combination serves you well as you power your foldie through rough roads with a spattering of bumpy terrains.

No matter what bike you ride, wheelsets are important as they affect its performance. A bigger tyre-inch gives you wider road support, but is slightly more cumbersome. A thinner tyre-rim width is better for lighter road action. The Oyama Pro Dazzle M990HD here uses a 20 inch wheelset with 20 x 1.95″ tyres of its own brand-sake. Its relative slimness makes for easy riding as you take your foldie out for a quick spin to the park and back.

A C.Star X800 Hydraulic Disc Brake system complements the bike for quicker braking action. Though a foldie is often used for basic riding from Point A to Point B unlike the higher speed performance of a road bike, the presence of hydraulic brakes assures you of faster stopping action over basic rim brakes.

The saddle and seat post are Oyama’s own – they are quite comfortable for longer distance rides.

Ride & Feel Quality

To fold, the bike has 3 basic levers you need to release: the foldable joint at the stem, the seat post, and in the middle of the bike frame. Folding action is simple and can be accomplished within seconds. The ride felt smooth and gears were easy to switch. I did not have any issues riding through bumpier terrain though as with most foldie bikes, you would want to keep to the smoother road terrains and pavements.
