Cyclecycle Grand Opening
10/10/10 marks the official opening of Cyclecycle. This bodes well for riders living in the north. There isn’t many bike shops located in the Woodlands area and Cyclecycle would definitely be a nice addition.
There were already a number of family and friends when I arrived. Some casual socialization was going on and the mode was lively. The opening picked up its pace when a group of folding bike enthusiasts arrived after their Sunday ride. Joining the crowd included big names in the bike industry and many new customers.
Everyone was so busy chatting they had to be coaxed into eating the buffet spread! Both William and Vincent were welcoming and were glad to answer all of my queries even when they were pretty busy entertaining the guests trickling in. The crowd was visibility happy and I am sure they enjoyed themselves. There were still more people arriving even when we left!
Getting to the shop was just a short walk away from the Marsiling Mrt station. There is a multi-story car park for drivers. Riders can either get to the shop via the elevator or escalator as it is located on the second floor.
The shop is a little small, but it didn’t felt cluttered at all. I didn’t had much problems checking out the nice simple layout even though there were already more than a few friends in it. I also enjoyed that the shop is air conditioned. There is also a cool loop round the corridors to test the bikes.
Cyclecycle caters to a large variety of riders, they carry bmx, mountain bikes for youths and adults, road bikes and even fold-able ones. They will gladly do bike servicing and mechanical work as well. They currently carry Felt, Cannondale, Dahon, Shimano, Sram, Kenda, Schwalbe, Bontrager, Minoura, Lezyne,RavX, Giro, Bell, Saris racks, O-Synce products and the list goes on.
Cyclecycle is opened by brothers William and Vincent. They felt that Woodlands lacked bike shops that cater to the mid-range and high-ended bikes. In addition to being welcoming, both William and Vincent are UBI certified. Their certificates sits proudly near the wall of park tools in their neat mechanic area.
They are opened on all days except public holidays. Hours are 11 to 5 on Sundays and 11 to 8 on other days.
This bodes well for riders who live or ride around that area. They now will have a professional bike shop that has something for everyone.
