Thread is Sticky Topic: Scammer's Contact Numbers - Pls contribute!

Hi everyone!

These scammers always use Paypal as their mode of transaction. They would also ask you to do a downpayment of 50% for the high-end bikes that they seem to be selling.

They will also refuse/reason out as to why you wont be able to check the bike upfront and giving them cash in person. Recently, they also reached out to some sellers in the marketplace using an Australian number in whatsapp - asking to buy the item and they will pay via Paypal.

Do not at all do a request money to the said guy as we do not know the intentions behind these schemes.

If you ever had an encounter with these guys. you may share your tips here so that everyone will be alerted about these scammers.

Thank you and safe shopping in the marketplace!

this scammer will direct you to buy so called brand new bicycles from best bargain pals website. Told me bicycle in Singapore warehouse but no one there. Only after making payment then can deliver the item. When I asked to go down together, tell me that item may be shipped out from Malaysia.

The scammer I found was using a SG number. Immediately he said he'd deliver the bike and needed a deposit and this was a red flag. I asked if he could deliver it to JB and he said yes. I asked him if the bike had the new new gel-foam bushings and he said yes.

So I knew it was BS. He asked me my name and I told him it was U. Chee Bye. He was ok with that. Then I sent him a grabify.link url with a pic of a cassette to ask him if it was the same as on the bike he was selling - but that link was to grab his IP. Turned out he was in Nigeria.

He gave me a POSB number and a local's IC and asked me to transfer $500 to that account. Looked like he was using a real local account and a person here in SG to do this.

Thanks for the headsup.
If he used SG # then can report to police as it should be easier to locate this syndicate.
