Topic: Identification of Unruly Cyclist Required - TMP Cycle

Posted on: 19th Jan 2020 4:53 PM    Quote and Reply

Hi fellow forumers / cyclist

I need some support to identify a unruly cyclist on TMCR (Tanah Merah Coast Road)
Incident took place on the 2nd November 2019

I was riding in the direction of Changi Village towards ECP when I realised this guy from the cycling group, TMP Cycle, was really coming to close in the draft for comfort.
Honestly, I would prefer not to be drafted by strangers as there has been too many experiences of strangers drafting others & when an accident is caused by the drafter, they just ride away without providing any assistance or compensation.

Well this guy from TMP Cycle, when I told him not to draft me as I would like to prevert crashes from drafting, he, in his ego, took it as a huge offence & went on to tell me how great he, how much salt he has been eating, he has been riding around more than 100 years etc.

Well, hurled vulgarities, he incited a illegal race, ran the red lights, rode outside the cycline lane, tried ride at a pace beyond his threshold & finally had to turn off at the ferry terminal because it was too much to take...

The ego is definetly over compensating for something

A TP report has been made against him & if anyone would come forward to identify him, would be much appreciated.

Such unruly cyclist should not be on the road, it is not like we already do not have a good name to begin with but people like that just make matters worst.

Unfortunate encounter. You guys could be riding buddies since your speed is roughly the same.

Cycling supposedly encourages camaraderie and safety. Hope we all keep safe and avoid getting these encounters with fellow riders. We are all of one goal, and that is to keep cycling, maintain our fitness and get healthy. Stay safe everyone!

I'm not sure if you have been through the whole video but Mr Ego here, with a humangous ego, obviously overcompensating for something obviously a tiny appendage, riding way above his threshold.

He skipped the red light & still got caught up with.

Only when caught up with, his ego fuels his legs to overperform to overcompensate.
In the end, his body could not take it & to prevent cardiac arrest, he had to turn off at Tanah Merah Ferry terminal.

Suprisingly I saw Mr Ego 2- 3 weeks ago, at the same spot along Tanah Merah Coast Road, well this time, his performance was poor, struggling to keep himself going forward. I guess he can only ride short burst when his ego is inflated.

Boasting that he has ridden for 10+ years seem like quite a feat to him. I've been riding before joining the forum & I've been in the forum for 19 years, I've never felt the need to show it. Only Mr Ego here whom is overcompensating & lack of self confidence, has to speak up, to "showcase" his worth.

Yes, I agree.

I'm quite disappointing no one from TMP cycle has come forward to identify him. I've seen TMP rides here & their group photos on the forum.

I can only conclude that TMP Cycle condone / supports / stands for / accepts such actions, reckless riding, unruly behaviour, aggression towards fellow road users, etc.

I hope you never have to. Rather no one has to deal with such egoistic outburst of a grown man that depicts a behaviour of a spoiled child that had his milk spilled.

Ride safe!

Some people react differently as a result of increased testosterone due to exercise. :D

This guy already gauged you from afar or for a while and thought that you are almost same level as him but he found out later that you are a notch higher.

Thus he went into taunting mode, draft and drop cycle.
There is an endomorphine rush when you look back and see your victim blown out of the water.

If he is really higher level than you, he will just taunt you by powering through without drafting and riding on drops.
