Topic: Which shops can convert my MTB to speedy 50t-54t plate crank only

Hi

As per the subject, had change my fork to rigid, 1.5 tyres and getting light frame MTB. Currently using Shimano XT, the crank with 4 spider hole. It is possible just change the plate to 50-54 teeth? Currently 2x10 speeds.

Any shops doing it, if yes around how much the cost? Thank you

Most MTB frames won't fit 50T+ chainrings they wont clear the chainstays. Also most road chainrings are not available for a 104bcd 4bolt mtb crank.
Plus a 44/11 is good for 50kmph+ Before spinning out, pro level maintaining that on an mtb with 1.5" tires and a flat bar. Just putting a bigger chain ring on will not make you any faster in my opinion.

bottom line,  just buy a road bike.. even the lowest end would be more cost savings than to keep spending more cash to change an MTB into a road bike, when its not suppose to fulfill that purpose
