Topic: Drop bar to flat bar conversion

I have a Raleigh RL880 which is drop bar. Want to change the drop bar to flat bar instead as drop bar doesn't suits me (brake lever too far!)

Anyone has any recommendation which shop can do the conversion?

I noticed the gear lever on this bike is on the straight bar and not on the brake lever, so I reckon conversion should be easier?

Just to share, i just recently converted my entry road bike drop bar to straight handlebar. It is not difficult, I enjoyed the process too. You can go to bike shop & get quote, do it at one go & save the trouble. For me to have fun, same time learn something new too, so i decide DIY. save some bucks too.

watch youtube, read forum & discussion group.
if you keen I can share more.

Depends on your groupset. Unless you want to change to MtB Groupset.

I was quoted $300 -$400 to convert drop to straight. I sold my Roadbike and bought a $482 hybrid bicycle instead.

Not as fast as my Roadbike of course but it suits my riding style and never have any back pain anymore.
