Hi,

Need a bit of information/recommendation/advice on hitch/towball platform racks: what would you recommend?

Had been using Saris but dont want to scratch the paint of the new car.

Thanks!

WestFalia from Germany - Bar None.

Can take up to 3 bikes with max 60kg, and certified up to 130km/hr car speed while carrying the bikes.

Check it out.

I think those things are illegal in Singapore, or something about the tow ball having to be removable. A mate of mine got one installed in Malaysia and got summons when he got back. There are definitely some LTA rules over them that you need to check out before getting one.

Nope, is approved but yes, it must be removable which Westfalia is.

Mine is and was stopped by a TP year ago while he admire the full system, with license plates displayed and lights extension connected as well.

I contacted LTA before and someone called back with this advice.
- When rack is mounted with bikes, ensure nothing protrude from the sides of the car, and number plate and brakes lights must be seen
- When rack is not mounted, the ball must not protrude from the rear of car.
- Cannot drive around with rack mounted with no bikes.

Cheers guys! Thanks for the information!

Nauti: where did you get it from? You have to install a towbar under the bumper I guess? And how much did it set you back?

Hi hi, sorry to revive this thread again as there really isn't much info about hitch Mount.

Where to get the hitch Mount thingy before buying the rack? Hope someone can give some good advice.

Tia.

I have the same question too! Looking for a hitch bike rack as well for the Honda Odyssey! I saw that Treknology's site has a wide range of bike racks but do they fix the hitch system?

Thanks!

You can try AD (Subaru have toll bar mounts) or revo

Decide if you want hitch or towbar racks. Saris are all hitch rack.
