A.

Q. Do I have to reach the 45km in a Single Activity?

A.

No. You can accumulate 45km in multiple activities, so as long as these activities are recorded within the required date (9 August 2021).

Q. How do I unlock the achievement?

A.

Sign up and form a team of at least 2 members. Once your team reaches 45km combined (regardless if it will be running, cycling or walking), all members of the team will unlock the achievement.

Q. We are a team of more than 2, do we get the chance to unlock this achievement?

A.

The maximum number of members allowed to unlock this team achievement is 10. So as long as you don't exceed that limit, you and your team will have a chance to unlock this achievement.

Q. Do I need to have combined activity types (running, walking, cycling) to unlock this achievement?

A.

No. Regardless of the type of activity that you have recorded, so as long as you reach a total distance of 999km during the challenge, you will be unlocking this achievement.

Yes. So as long as the required distance of 999km is achieved, you will be unlocking this achievement.

Q. How do I unlock the achievement?

A.

Sign up and form a team of at least 2 members and maximum of 10 members. Once your team reaches a combined distance of 450km, all members of the team will unlock the achievement.

THE ALL ROUNDER

Q. I only do cycling, will I be eligible to unlock this achievement?

A.

No. This achievement must be a combination of the three types of activities. In order to unlock the achievement, you must have at least 1 recorded activity for each of the the activity types (Running, Walking, Cycling).

NO REST DAY

Q. I only do cycling, will I be eligible to unlock this achievement?

A.

Yes. For this achievement, we don't ask you to do a combination of the activities. So as long as you hit at least 4.5 km per day for 7 consecutive days, you will be unlocking this achievement.

Q. I run in the first two days, cycled in the next 3 days and walked in the last 2 days, will I be eligible to unlock this achievement?

A.

Yes. So as long as 4.5 km per day is achieved for 7 consecutive days, you will be eligible to unlock this achievement, regardless of the type of activity that you have recorded.

Q. Why is The People's Association holding this event?

A.

People's Association organises this virtual sports event for the community to participate in commemorating CSC 45th anniversary. Holding a virtual challenge for the community is the quickest and most accessible way for people to get involved. While undertaking the challenge, all

Q. What are the key rules which I need to take note while taking part in this event?

A.

The Event aims to foster a community who are committed to staying active and maintaining good citizenry. While taking part in this challenge, we need everyone to abide by all health advisories and restrictions in your area prior to undertaking any physical activity.

Q. What are the dates and distance of the People’s Association - Commemorating CSC's 45th Anniversary Challenge?

A.

The challenge period starts from 1st July 2021 (Thursday 0000hrs) - 31st August 2021 (Tuesday 2359hrs), Singapore time.

Q. When is the closing date for registration?

A.

Registration closes on 31st July 2021, 23:59hrs

Q. How much is the participation fee?

A.

The participation fee is $10. You will get the 45th Anniversary Commemorative Medal along with it as well.

Q. Can I do indoor rides, run and walk on a treadmill, trainer or stationary bike?

A.

Yes, Outdoor and Indoor Rides, Walk or Runs are counted for the challenge

Q. Do I have to clock 45km in 1 activity submission to become a finisher?

A.

No. You may clock as many activities as you wish to complete 45km and beyond.

Q. I have paid for the challenge, how will I know if my registration is successful?

A.

All successful registrants will receive an email notification. If you are not sure if your payment is successful, please contact us at [email protected]

Q. I live outside of Singapore, can I still sign up and join?

A.

No, this challenge is open people residing in Singapore only.

Q. Do I get my medal, t-shirt and/or Jersey if I do not complete the required challenge distance?

A.

Yes, you will still receive them. However, it's not tough to complete the challenge, and we encourage you to go for it!

Q. I have registered, what's next?

A.

As we are using Togoparts to connect to your Strava account. Remember to use your STRAVA App to track all your activities during the challenge period. You can find Strava's authorisation link in our notification email. If you are using a non-Strava device to record your activities, please upload your activities to Strava. Just make sure the devices are Strava-compatible! Once the challenge starts, the leaderboard will be refreshed periodically to reflect your relevant completed activity details.

Q. Can I request for a refund?

A.

.There will be no refunds made once a participant has signed up. In the event where the participant is unable to complete the challenge due to unforeseen circumstances, no refunds will be made but you will be getting 45th CSC Commemorative Medal.

Q. How many members are allowed in a single team?

A.

 A team must consist of minimum 2 person or maximum 10 person team to qualify for achievements. You do not need to do your activities together to be ranked as a team or unlock team achievements.

Q. I'm under 18, can I take part?

A.

Yes you may. You will have to get consent from your parents or guardians by filling in their details in the registration form.

EVENT MERCHANDISE

Q. Do I get the 45th CSC Commemorative Medal, Tee or Jersey if I do not complete the challenge distance within the challenge period?

A.

Yes you will receive them even if you do not complete 45km as they are commemorative and not Finisher rewards.

Q. Can I change the size of the apparel rewards if they do not fit me?

A.

No, once we mail the merchandise, no change of size is allowed for the apparel. You may update the sizes of the Tee or Jerseys by clicking on the "Update Info" button before the 26th of July 2021. You may also ask fellow participants within the Togoparts Facebook Exclusive Community group to see if anyone can exchange it with you.

Q. When and How will i get my rewards?

A.

We will be mailing your rewards by courier to the address you have entered when you register for the event. The rewards will reach you by the 30th September (4 weeks after the challenge ended)

Q. How do I get the Special Edition 450km Finisher Jersey?

A.

You will need to be the first 100 participants to complete 450km in totall in any of the 3 activity types namely Walking, Running or Cycling to qualify for a lucky draw. Only 80pcs will be available for the draw. If you are a winner, we will contact you to get your size for the Jersey. All the best!

INTER-CSC COMPETITION

Q. How does this work?

A.

This Challenge will have a CSC Leaderboard in addition to the Individual Challenge Leaderboard. The CSC leaderboard will combine and gather the average distance during your running, walking or cycling sessions of the participants within the same CSC. The CSC that has the highest average distance by the end of the challenge, will be our TOP 10 CSCs by average distance.

Q. How do I take part and join my CSC?

A.

During your registration, you are asked to select the CSC that you wanted to be part of.

Q. I have signed up and skipped selecting my CSC selection, how do I add it in?

A.

We are only able to edit your CSC selection from the back end, please send us an email at [email protected]

Q. How do I contribute to my CSC's distance?

A.

 Our system will automatically process this for you - so as long as you have selected your CSC for the challenge. You may check the CSC leaderboard to see your CSC's progress once the challenge starts.

Q. Can I join a CSC and also form a team?

A.

Yes. Once you join a CSC, you may create or join a team by entering your team name

Q. I need more clarification regarding this, can anyone help?

OTHERS

Q. Can we walk, run or cycle during the enhanced social distancing measures?

A.

Yes, you are encouraged to do these activities alone or in a pair. We currently are in Phase 2 Heightened Alert. Please refer to the following site for measures that might change during the challenge https://www.gov.sg/article/additional-restrictions-under-phase-2--heightened-alert

Q. I think someone is using the Strava App on an e-bike, motorbike or car.

A.

 It's a personal honour challenge as well as a physical one. We think everyone has the integrity and are honest about challenging themselves. Togoparts.com reserves the right to ignore the Strava entry due to dishonesty. Based on a case by case basis, we have the right to disqualify any participants at our sole discretion or should we find a participant in violation of terms and conditions of the challenge repetitively.

Q. How do you treat activities which are made against the Singapore Traffic Rules, for e.g riding on expressway?

A.

The entire activities will not be recognised if any section of the activity is ridden/ran/walked on a Singaporean Expressway. Activities on the highway is not permitted in Singapore. We strongly urge all challengers to ride/run/walk safely and abide by all traffic regulations of Singapore.

Q. Why are some of my rides missing?

A.

There are a couple of reasons why they could be missing:

-You have recorded your activity prior to linking your Strava to the challenge. This will only allow our system to recognize activities that are done after the linking.
-You have set an incorrect activity type on Strava. For #CSC45, our system will only recognize, Run, Ride, Walk, Virtual Run, Virtual Ride activities.
-Your activity may have been flagged and have been removed. Our team reserves the right to moderate and remove such rides if proven to be invalid or against our challenge rules.
-Your activity may have been overlapping another activity. Our system is built to automatically detect overlapping activities (by time). It automatically removes one of the overlapping rides and retains the activity with the longest distance recorded.
-You may have violated some Singapore Traffic Rules. In such cases, Togoparts reserves the right to remove these activities.

Q. Why are some of the postings being removed on Togoparts' challenge leaderboard and forum?

A.

Togoparts.com will remove postings that are deemed inappropriate and which will adversely affect the spirit of the event.

TRACKING AND LOGGING OF ACTIVITIES

Q. Where can I check my progress against other participants?

A.

You can check the challenge leaderboard after it goes live on the first day of the challenge period.

Q. My ride/run/walk does not show up on the challenge leaderboard or I do not see my username on the challenge leaderboard after authorising Togoparts to connect to my Strava account.

A.

The challenge leaderboard will be refreshed periodically throughout each day. Please wait for them to be updated. If any irregularities occur, please email us at [email protected]. Please allow upto 48 hours for us to respond.

Q. How can I be sure I'm logging my distance for the challenge?

A.

You will receive an email notification that registration was successful after you have registered. If you have already registered but yet to authorise Togoparts to connect to your Strava account, you will receive an email reminder to do so immediately.

Q. Can I log multiple times to add up to the challenge distance?

A.

Yes. The beauty of virtual challenge is that you can log anytime and anywhere outdoors, even to the market, work or bike shop. Just remember to log your activities with the Strava app, or upload them to Strava if you are using another device for recording your activities. Just make sure the devices are Strava-compatible!

Q. Can I measure my distance using other apps or devices?

A.

We require all participants to log their activities using Strava. You can use tracking devices like Garmin and upload your activities to Strava. If you have logged your activity with another app and not Strava, the system will not recognize uploaded activity.

Q. Sometimes I ride for very long distances. How do I ensure my battery does not run out?

A.

To conserve your battery, let the Strava app run in the background while it is recording your activity. Here s a few steps you can follow:


Turn on-location services for your mobile phone:
iOS: Settings Privacy Location Services Set to ON
Android (Samsung 6.0.1): Settings Privacy & Safety Set to ON
Turn on your Strava apps location services:
iOS: Settings Strava Location Set to While Using or Always"
Android: On by default.


When you go out for a ride, hit record and turn off your mobile phone's screen. Special thanks to user triton for sharing this information.

Q. Can I add my activities manually?

A.

Manual input will be counted as indoor activities. Please note that all manual activities are moderated.

Q. Why do some of my rides/run/walk don't register?

A.

Your rides/runs/walks may be uploaded late (a few days after the ride), especially for riders who use tracking devices like Garmin.
We advise you to upload your rides and activities as soon as possible. If your Strava privacy setting is not set to public, our leaderboard will not be able to pull your activities and update it automatically. We advise you to change your privacy settings to public.

Strava web/app Settings Privacy untick ALL checkbox. For other technical issues, please contact us at [email protected] with your username and Strava Ride ID where available.

Q. The distance recorded by Strava is inaccurate, can you add the missing distance into that activity?

A.

We are not able to edit the details recorded by Strava. We do advise participants to ensure that their GPS signal is strong throughout the activity and consistently check that Strava is recording.

Q. I use Garmin Connect / Movescount to track my activities. How do I link them to Strava?

A.

You can log into your Strava account and click on this link: www.strava.com/upload/device

Q. Is it necessary to use the Strava iphone/android app to record my activities if I have another device such as a Garmin that I normally use?

A.

No, you can continue to use your existing preferred device such as a Garmin Edge to record your activities, as long as you can sync and upload them to Strava. If you use both to record, we will adapt to recognise the distance from only 1 source.

 

Q. How do I record an outdoor activity?

A.

Outdoor activities are activities that are supported by a GPS/Map data. You can record outdoor activities in multiple ways. You can use any tracking device that tracks your distance and is linked to your Strava Account. You can directly record your activities using the Strava App as well!

Q. How do I record an indoor activity?

A.

Indoor activities are activities which does not contain any GPS/Map data and are manually added on Strava. > Alternatively, you can upload manual activities by clicking the + button on your Strava App and selecting Manual Activity. > Select Virtual Run or Virtual Ride as your activity type - then our system will automatically recognize such activity as "Indoor".

Q. Can i tag my friends on my ride or runs?

A.

No. Tagging of rides or run are not allowed. Each participant must record their activities via their own Strava account.

 

Q. We rode or ran as a team, can we tag each other on the activity?

A.

Tagging your fellow participants will create an identical record of activities which will be flagged by our system and the other participants. As a General Rule, we do not allow participants to tag each other on rides in order to avoid reflecting identical records for the challenge.

 

Q. We have already tagged our teammates to those activities, what will happen?

A.

Our team goes through the leaderboard weekly. If by any chance that identical rides are detected through tagging, Togoparts reserves the right to remove these identical rides.

 

Q. I have linked my Strava Account late, will my prior activities be captured?

A.

Yes, so as long as they have been uploaded to your Strava Account and their dates are within the challenge period. If any irregularities occur, please email us at csc45@togoparts.com. Please allow up to 48 hours for us to respond.

No. So as long as their record dates are within the challenge period, our system will be able to fetch and reflect them in the challenge.

Q. What to do if I have linked my Strava late in the challenge?

A.

Send us an email at [email protected] to let us know of the issue so then our operations team can pull up your activities from the back end and have them reflected in the challenge.

VERIFICATION OF CHALLENGE RESULTS

Q. How do we verify the activities?

A.

By the end of the challenge period, our team filters the activities that may have irregular data. These data include the following:

-Unusual Max Speed Recorded
-Unusual Average Speed Recorded
-A Tagged Ride on Strava
-Duration of the Activity and the KM recorded 

Q. Why am I missing an activity after the results were finalized?

A.

These are the possible reasons why your activity may have been removed

-Your Strava Activity may have been flagged. Once our team detects that your activities are flagged in Strava, we will also remove them from our system.
-Duplicated Ride. If our team detects that you have uploaded a duplicated ride, we will also remove them during the verification process. 
-Irregular Data. If our team detects an unrealistic Average or Max Speed on your recorded activity, we reserve the right to check and remove the activity if necessary

Q. I think I have recorded a legit activity but have been removed, what can I do?

A.

You may reach us at [email protected] for clarification and more information. We will only entertain questions about your missing activities within 5 working days after the results have been finalized (10 Sept 2021). 

Q. If I email and show you proof of the validity of my activity, would it be reinstated?

A.

Our team reserves the right to decide if we will be able to reinstate the activity after some thorough checking of the information received. This would be a case-to-case basis.
