The project started with my search for a steel frame to create a modern road bike with vintage looks.

The frame though made of steel, weighs just 1.76kg which is not too shabby. It is built from triple-butted steeltubes.
I ordered the frame from BikeWagon at the price $1,049.95 USD excluding the shipping cost. Most of the parts are transferred from my foldie which is a Tern Link D8 with Dropbar and Shimano 105 5800 setup.

The bike has been christened Artoo, similar to R2D2 as the name of the frame has been shortened to just RRL2 for my project name. aka R2L2.
