The RC – or Racing Concept – in the Addict RC name means the bike is focused on being the most efficient bike possible. A lightweight HMF carbon frame and fork features race geometry used on the Michelton-SCOTT team bike, designed to fit the demands of a myriad of World Tour Teams. The disc brake model features an asymmetric rear triangle and lengthened chainstays to improve shifting quality of Shimano drivetrains and offer substantial clearance for 28c tires. All in, the bike weighs just 17.6 pounds without pedals, with a frame that weighs just 925g.
SCOTT’s Addict RC owes its light weight not only to the superb high-end components, but also to the new frameset which – according to the Swiss brand – sets a new benchmark for weight and stiffness. Unlike most bikes from the competition, the frame of the Addict doesn’t require an additional external carbon layer, which allows them to save even more weight. And out of the saddle, the Addict feels stout in a way that belies its low weight nature. The wide 700 x 28c tires are fast but do quite a bit to improve riding comfort and improve grip on descents.
The 2019 SCOTT Addict RC 20 Disc features an HMF Carbon frame and fork, a Shimano Ultegra mechanical R8000 drivetrain, and Syncros RP 2.0 Disc wheels. Syncros carbon and alloy components and Continental Grand Sport Race Fold 700 x 28c tires complete the build.
