Taipei Cycle 2017 – DVO

5th April 2017 | COMPONENTS

A company started on 2012 by the founder of Marzocchi, Bryson Martin. With many years of suspension technology behind him and the team at DVO, you can be sure to expect nothing less from them. DVO suspensions are a line of super high end suspensions. Due to them not being mass produced which is why you don’t see them coming with stock bikes.

DVO suspensions are all engineered in southern california USA and manufactured in Taichung Taiwan.

Emerald 203mm Inverted DH

As the years have went, DVO has more and more coming up the line of componentry. Products that are available are forks for downhill/enduro/trail, shocks and dropper seatposts.

ONYXsc

For the 2018 lineup, there is a new downhill fork called the ONYX. The ONYX has few differences from its other downhill counterpart, the Emerald. The ONYX does not come as an inverted fork, it is also lighter and costs slightly less. Be sure to also look out for future projects such as the single crown ONYX.

Diamond 110 Boost

As for enduro, they came up with a new fork called the Beryl. Beryl come as a fork tht is one step below the Diamond. A little less expensive but same quality and performance. With few of the manufacturing steps being taken out, they are able to keep cost slightly lower for the consumers.

For Riders By Riders

DVO has also produced a brand new trail oriented fork with 140mm travel called the DVO Sapphire. This fork is made to fit 29inch wheels, 650b wheels and also 27.5+ wheels.

Sapphire Fork

As for dropper post, it is called the DVO Garnet. These seatpost are made with a diameter of 30.9 and 31.6. Coming with a length of 385mm with 125mm or 150mm of drop. To keep things operating more smoothly with reliability, it comes hydraulic actuated internally and cable externally.

For shocks, the only changes are more mounting standards to fit different frame standards.

I guess for 2018, DVO has decided to trickle it’s technology down to a slightly more consumer friendly platform for those who want to get the exquisite products from them, yet slightly budget conscious.
