This year the National Day Parade will be held at the Padang and the fireworks will be displayed at 3 different places, all along the Singapore River.

If you didn’t get a NDP ticket like the most of us, there is a better way to watch fireworks with your favourite bike. Here is our list of places where you can ride to see the Fireworks Display for NDP 2019:

Esplanade Roof Terrace

The Esplanade is a prominent feature that makes the beautiful skyline of Singapore.  Less is known about The Esplanade’s rooftop terrace where you can get unblocked views of the NDP fireworks. Surrounded with little trees, brambles and bushes, it offers the ideal site for you to easily seat back and watch the show.

Helix Bridge

One of our top picks, the Helix Bridge is the one closest to the Fireworks Show. The Helix Bridge itself provides for a remarkable sight. Designed with four inner spirals and a pretty light at night, it is almost a popular location for tourists and locales to catch the fireworks.

Fullerton Road

Queen Elizabeth Walk is a walkway situated at the Esplanade Park located in Central Singapore. Queen Elizabeth Walk is an easy access towards the Singapore River wherein the NDP Fireworks will be displayed. Along the walkways, there are benches that you will be able to take a seat with your bicycle as you watch the NDP Fireworks. Just be sure to reach the walk and the benches before it gets fully-packed.

Merlion Park

Arguably the most popular symbol of tourism in Singapore, the Merlion Park will surely be jam-packed as it boasts its fairly impressive view of the Singapore River wherein the NDP Fireworks will be seen. We suggest that you cycle there early. Refreshments can be bought from the nearby 7-11 or Cheers as you wait for the countdown

Stadium Waterfront

A lesser known location (and less crowded) for viewing the NDP fireworks is the Stadium Waterfront. Located beside the Kallang Wave Mall at Singapore Sports Hub, the view of the NDP fireworks is unblocked. The area is open and accessible by bicycles and ample parking space is available.

Marina Barrage

The Marina Barrage is another great location from which the NDP fireworks can easily be seen. The rooftop of the barrage is an open green space that is freely accessible for everybody, even bicycles. The Marina Barrage is an ideal location for you to take a seat at any spot and chill on your bikes – of course.

The Promontory @ Marina Bay

The Promontory – Google Map Location

Last but not least, the Promontory is a walkway along Marina Bay, which overlooks Singapore’s former waterfront and an all-encompassing perspective of the Bay. A publicly shared space which are commonly used as a site for community and family friendly activities, it would be easy to say that this would be the ideal vantage spot for you to enjoy the fireworks.

There are a lot of ways to get through these areas. However, expecting the traffic jams, some road closures, the crowded streets and all the other activities in some areas – getting your bikes on with you the best way to get around to these locations.  If you have joined the #TOGONDC Virtual Cycling Challenge happening from 3rd to 18th Aug 2019, you can clock your distance as well to get the SG54 National Day Cycling Jersey and Medal when you complete 96.5km!
