Saracen in Singapore

Saracen is one of Britain’s best known bicycle brands dating back to 1987. One of their most iconic moments is when adventure cyclist Nick Crane rode a Saracen Conquest mountain bike up Mount Kilimanjaro. Saracen is set to continue this flare in the coming years to put them firmly back on the map, making them the choice bikes for years to come.

Their new range of mountain bikes covers categories from aggressive UK long-travel trail bikes to well designed kids bikes at affordable prices. They believe that great design, quality and affordability can come in a single package.

Believing in Saracen’s vision, Integrated Riding partnered Saracen as their distributor in Singapore and selected regions in Asia. Their excitement can be felt during the Saracen party held on 25 September 2010, in celebration of them getting the distributorship. It was a pity that the complete range was not available in time for the party. Nonetheless it was still a great event, introducing another great brand to local shore.

In this event, only 4 models were displayed. Two mountain bike models and another two from their Urban series. We understand from Rachael that Integrated Riding will be bringing in the complete range less the DH models. The stocks are expected to arrive before the end of the year.

Back to the bikes on display. The two mountain models are the Tufftrax and the Mantra. The former is Saracen’s entry level offering for those new to the sport while the later is a mid-range model for the more serious riders. For the Mantra, while the starting kit is not entirely bling up, the sturdy frame offers lots of upgrading potential and can grow with your capability.

Mountain biking is not your cup of tea? Fret not. The real stars of the show are the Urban bikes, the Clevermike specifically. This is not the usual run-of-the-mill 700c commuting bikes, but a funky new range for the style conscious customer. All Urban bikes feature Saracen’s simple, lightweight and fast Alloy frame that’s tough enough to take on potholes or the occasional off-road jaunt. A mixture of mountain bike style with the practicalities of city riding dressed with a hint of fixie style. We have your attention? Stay tune for the whole range to be available.

Alongside Saracen and Essen, they also carry familiar brands like Whyte, Chumba and Solid Bikes. Recently, Integrated Riding has also brought in Reverse component which offer their components in numerous eye candy colours. You pretty much can find any colour you could ask for to colour match your bike. On the clothing end, they carry Funkier, an Israel based company that specializes in performance clothing at an affordable price.
