" Good for beginners on SPDs "

Overall Rating
Reviewed on: 15th Mar 2007 from Socialist Republic Of Singapore Singapore

The Review
Get this if you're willing to spend a bit more money for the brand name. The strengths more than make up for its flaws.

Strengths
1. Threads at the sole allow you to walk with these shoes on most types of terrain.

2. Versatile. You can get a pair and use it for both mtb and roadie, provided you are using mountain pedals for your road bike.

3. Many colours to choose from.

4. 3 velcro straps provide a secure closure.

5. SIDI fonts at the side and back acts as reflectors at night, albeit weak ones.

6. Tough. My pair has seen quite a lot of abuse due to my bo-chup attitude with them. Sratches, dirt marks, peeling off leather, my pair hasnt come apart yet, and its still as comfy as day 1.

Weaknesses
1. SIDI shoes arent exactly suitable for people with wide feet. Before you buy one, remember to walk around the shop and get a feel of it first.

2. Not exactly attractive pricing when compared to similiar offerings from Shimano or Pearl Izumi.

This is absolutely a great MTB shoes!!! Not only is the sole stiff enough, but the design is awesome? Moreover, the brand SIDI is known to be? ?high class and good quality product?? Even though it?s kind of expensive, but it?s worth the money? Try it to believe it!!!

Strengths
- stiff sole
- comfortable
- pretty light
- 3 velcro straps
- great design
- Italian made

Weaknesses
- expensive
- mud shedding may not be so good... but i think most MTB shoes are like this.

" A good looking MTB shoe for XC and MTB road use "

Overall Rating
Reviewed on: 8th Jan 2006 from Singapore

The Review
A great shoe for the price i paid. Its been through quite abit so far and still holding up well. The expansion of the leather after seasoning was minimal.

Strengths
Stiff sole for good leg power transition. Comfortable fit which is great for long rides. 3 velcro straps are just enough for a snug fit than won't come loose. The mesh in the front part helps the feet breathe when riding, which adds to the overall comfort. The heel cup is reinforced with hard plastic. This helps to give a solid feel when clicking-out. The SIDI wordings facing the rear are reflective, which is good for night rides. As compared to Shimano, SIDI
shoe cutting is slightly narrower and abit more snug at the heel. Probably you would want to go for Shimano if you were a bigger sized rider as the range of cutting and shoes design is bigger.

Weaknesses
Not very good mud shedding. Once this shoe steps into the sticky kind of mud...thats it! You can forget about clicking into anyting until you scrape off the mud from around the cleats. Unlike the more expensive 'SIDI Dragon', this sole is not replacable. Good ventilation also means a good way for water to enter, especially if you are caught in the rain.

" Great XC shoes "

Overall Rating

The Review
Beautiful shoes. Snug and comfortable. In-sole replacement would make this one of the better shoes on the market. Price a little high compared to similar Shimano items.

Strengths
Quality build.
Great design.
Grippy on grass unlike some others where the cleats are exposed and is a hazard when walking.
Italian brand snobbery.

Weaknesses
In-sole pretty hard. Not ideal for walking long distances when the need arises

" One very nice pair of shoes. "

Overall Rating
Reviewed on: 10th Jun 2005 from Singapore

The Review
I like these shoes, the leather still retains it's shape after more than 5 months. I admit to being a SIDI fan since 1990 for all my motorcycle boots and now my cycling shoes. Consistently SIDI shoes (leather) after wearing in, fit my feet nicely. The only serious wear and tear occurs on the front of the shoe at the soles and tip where I see a few cuts in the leather. This is caused mostly by unexpected forced dismounts while off road. Value for money in a midrange priced set of shoes.

Strengths
Snug fit, good quality finish, nice colour, stiff sole.

Weaknesses
The non replaceable studs at the front of the shoe could be harder and more durable. Leather at the foremost tip of the shoe could be thicker or reinforced.
