" Wireless but not fuss-free "

Overall Rating
Reviewed on: 12th Jul 2007 from Singapore

The Review
If you can overlook the weaknesses I listed, it's a nifty and cool looking cyclocomp to have.

Strengths
1) Wireless - no need to coil wires around bar and fork
2) Can mount on stem or handlebar

Weaknesses
1) Backlight doesn't seem to be very bright, and appears at a corner of the screen, or maybe I don't have good eyesight ;p
2) Backlight button a bit hard to reach.

" worth every cent "

Overall Rating
Reviewed on: 13th Aug 2006 from Singapore

The Review
for its price its definately worth every single cent. what more can we ask for? wireless + backlight + reliable. readings are large and clear such that a quick glance is all that's necessary.

the pressing of the backlight button may pose a problem if stem mounted since its behind the computer.

other than that, if a basic wireless computer is what you're looking for, this is IT! plus it has backlight!

Strengths
-no problems with handphone interference
-manual odo set (for people who wanna keep track of total distance)
-reliable piece of equipment as long as placed properly
-so far no problems with rain or other elements
-backlight!! at this price, that's a plus!
-nice big numbers
-looks pretty slick

Weaknesses
-for people who mount on stem, the backlight button may be awkward if hav bigger fingers.
-basic functions

" Improved reliability over the Cordless 7 "

Overall Rating
Reviewed on: 24th Jul 2006 from Singapore

The Review
With the MC100, cateye manages to resolve issues that plagued its predecessor, the Cordless 7. It is still not perfect however, as signal interference was still noted on certain occasions, but already a marked improvement over the C7. The lack of backlit has always been a sore point with consumers, so its inclusion is greatly welcomed, though the button could be more accessible. An option to run with the lights on until switched off would be most desired. The downside would be the button feel, the C7 is definitely better in this department. No big loss here, but the new buttons will take some getting used to. Function-wise, the MC100 retains the straight forwardness of its predecessors. A worthy buy.

Strengths
Finally! Backlit at an affordable pricepoint.

Easy to program, even without the manual.

Marked improvement in resistance to signal inteference.

Weaknesses
Signal still prone to interference from the strongest of ambient IR sources.

The buttons could have a more positive click; accessing the backlit button is downright awkward!

" Backlighted computer at a low price! "

Overall Rating
Reviewed on: 7th Jan 2006 from SGP/CCK Singapore

The Review
Great value for money, about the same price as the previous versions, but comes with a backlight. It has never given me erroneous readings or failed to give me speed readings. if you don't need cadence readings, this is all you will need!

Strengths
No wires to break. Sensor life not too bad, after 6 months still going.

Easy to use, intuitive navigation.
Waterproof, short of diving with the bike.. I've washed the computer itself. Then again, all cyclo-comps shd be this waterproof.
BACKLIGHT!! at this price..

two sets of trip meter, ave speed n distance available (usual cateye fare).

can be mounted on stem instead of handlebar..

wheel magnet a breeze to install and remove without tools. i should not have bought a spare.

Weaknesses
Button for backlight a little hard to press, must reach behind the computer.

Difficult to change from wheel size A to B. maybe it's just me but everytime i try, it's a hit n miss affair.

" Good wireless computer, not so good buttons "

Overall Rating
Reviewed on: 26th Dec 2005 from SG

The Review
No frills computer at an ok price, serves basic purpose but button positioning needs to be improved!

Strengths
Compact and lightweight, good display and backlight feature is nice. No problems of erratic readings so far, reliable data. Looks sleek too.

Weaknesses
Took me half an hour to decipher the roundabout-like instruction leaflet, very confusing.

The start/stop button at the bottom of the computer is hard to press correctly, same goes for the backlight button. Or maybe I just have fat clumsy fingers and thumbs.
