" Awesome stuff "
|
Duration of product used:
Less than 1 month |
Bike Setup:
-same as above review- but rockshox duke c 80mm hydra air // tioga factory dh 2.2 |
Similar Products Tried:
trek 4200 (hardtail) |
Weaknesses:
stock fox float has slow rebound (not adjustable)
a little heavy for 6000 series heat treated aluminium.
as mentioned above...muck does get onto the rear shock..so shock boots are a must. I would also suggest lizard skins chainstay guard...to prevent your chain from scraping off paint of the chainguard. |
The Crunch:
Well..this bike is pretty worth buying. It has pretty much everything in stock that a aggro XC rider could ask for. I managed to do a 2 ft drop on the curb while test riding this bike. From what i can see...this bike should be able to take up to 5 ft. I would suggest upgrading your brakes from the stock avid single digit 3 v-brakes to a disc. There are disc brake mountings on the frame. And do upgrade your fork to a much higher travel if you wanna plusher ride..

" If you don't have one of these bikes, why not? go get one now !! "

Duration of product used:
2 years |
Bike Setup:
full XT with X317 Black rims, Formula 4 Racing Disks Marzocci 03 MX Comp 105mm forks(red), EA50 Stem Panaracer Trail Blaster 1.95 (red sidewall) Specilaised BG Saddle DMR V8's (blue, Syncros Riser + Seat post.
When purchased it had Deore groupset with LX rear Mech, Truvative Cranks, Rock Shox Judy XC 100mm Syncrose Riser, Stem + Big Box rims, WTB Wildgripper Tyres 2.1's, Fox Float Rear Shock, Avid SD 3 Levers + 3 Cantis SDG Saddle |
Strengths:
An all round bike for all round riding, and with a rrp of £1000 when new it is a very good bargin, even better if you upgrade it as I have done. |
Weaknesses:
Hasn't got any now I've sorted the weight thing out. |
The Crunch:
The iDrive delivers a predictable and confident inspiring ride every time you ride it, the chain length is kept the same no matter how it is been ridden, and I can never tell when the rear suspension is working due to the iDrive keeping things smooth. I know what you have heard about bikes with rear suspension in direct fire of mud from the rear wheel, but let me tell you this, I have put a lizard skin over the rear shock on every ride and taken it off after every ride and to this day I havn't had to put any air in it, or have it serviced what so ever. |
