" So-so only "
Duration of product used:
1 year
Bike Setup:
1)Porsche Bike FS Frame only now.
2)Airborne Lucky Strike
3)Voodoo Erzulie
4)Element Proton Frame only
Similar Products Tried:
PACE RC31, FF Vanilla 125 RLC & Float 100 RLC, RST Alfafa
Strengths:
- light, because air fork mah.
- quite responsive
Weaknesses:
- very poor oil and air seals
- the top seals are not able to provide good 'sweeping' of dust and dirt.
The Crunch:
This is one of the worst fork I ever used. The oil and air seals give way when I was going down a kerb, and I never used it for off road somemore. After the servicing and replacement of seal, it was quite alright. But after a few ride, the top seal, which I think is the dust seal, was nearly poping out. I quickly cycle home, use a mallet and pin punch to punch it down to the fork. Then I use it for another 2 off road ride, and when I was taking it out for a ride again, I found out that there is no more air pressure. Then I found out that the air seal is leaking. From there onwards, I change to another fork and stop using that fork anymore.

" Not bad, not bad at all... "
Duration of product used:
3 months
Bike Setup:
Specialized HR a1 comp, red duke xc 100mm (duh), LX-deore drivetrain.
Similar Products Tried:
Stock judy tt's ('01 n '02), RS Jett
Strengths:
Its air! Rigid, light, looks damn good... quite responsive when u need it to be. (all my friends tried it n loved it)
Weaknesses:
paint job's flaky-high tendency to chip off in chunks. fork tends to be excessively rigid over small bumps n obstacles when going fast i.e spikes out at higher speeds. initial stiction of the stanchions/seals is taking quite awhile to break in. Abit too much sag.
The Crunch:
Despite a whold bunch of rants i have against it (see above), these're all pretty minor problems. Don't think the fork's properly broken in yet, so hope to see it peak soon. Stiction i resolve by applying lube b4 rides... Value wise, its a hundred bucks cheaper than an SL, and that cuts it for me. Its light, it feels solid...my only real gripe is the shifty paint job-one good scratch n u can just rip an entire layer of paint off, so be very careful. Otherwise, a good n well-rounded performer.
