" A great E Bike conversion "

The Review
This is a follow up on my last review on the 2010 Avanti Barracuda. It has now been converted into an ebike with a 750 Bafang mid drive motor. It\'s fantastic and quick on the road. The bafang has 9 levels and I\'m usually in level 2 (low) moving at 30 - 33KPH with ease, If I get into a headwind I shift up to level 3 or 4 to maintain speed.
The bike handles the conversion well and it was an easy fit. With a 52V 17.5ah battery, it will do just over 100KM per charge. The bike handles beautifully and with upgrades to XT on gearing, it changes gear precisely and the brake upgrade to 18CM rotors means I can stop quickly. A cane creek seat post provides comfort over bumps and a sturdy Philip\'s carrier and a variety of panniers give excellent streamlined transportation to a variety of items.
Nuke handlebars and seat post clamp and time ATAC dual pedals look good, It\'s a great machine.

" A tough nut to crack "

The Review
This bike handles well and the geometry has a nice feel with medium and above average componentry. I like it so much I'm just about to convert it into an e-bike with a bafang mid-drive motor, either 500 or 750w. It's a fairly compact frame and stops well with the hydraulics. I will, however, upgrade the disk as an E-Bike. It's also a lovely bronze metallic brown which is a relief from the garish paint work of many mountain bikes. I say it's tough because it can take a fall on the road and get back up without blinking an eyelid. Highly recommended.
