I bought my stem post from Taobao. Then google for replacement of stem post on dahon bike. There are info in internet to give you instructions as how to go about. I DIY myself and I am not that blogger you mentioned.

Many wueries to ask:
- Say I get a Vert 8 and upgrade it to have road or MTB brakes instead of disc brakes, change to bullhorn bar or dropbar with road lever/shifter can or not possible?
- Any type of chain can change to? How about KNC gold chain can this be compatible or not?
- What is the maximum gear speed possible?
As.a hobby experiment, no need to buy new components, upgrade only when finding cheap and good lobsngs at the marketplace. So no hurry.

possible but not very straightforward. For best results, drop bar uses only caliper brakes. but you need to change to drop bar / STI levers. expensive.
mtb brakes are V-brakes typically. not sure if they fit. If you want to use drop bars or bullhorns on them, you need this thing called a Travel Agent.

KMC chain / most chains will be ok as long as the speed is the same. 8 speed chain goes with 8 speed deraileur.
- What is the maximum gear speed possible?
typical is 53/11. But would you be able to pedal at 53/11 for long periods of time? Your legs would give out.

hey guys, new to forum but purchased a vert v8 and wanted to ask a question for the other owners.
i am pretty satisfied with the bike overall, it's nice...but i'm suspicious that the tyres are not authentic kenda tyres and the owner is not giving a clear answer.
when i compare online with other kendas, it appears:
1) the tread is different, 2) as are the color borders on the tyres (i have the red and black ones), and 3) the branding on the tyre is no done without color or in the same format as the other ones i see online (example here: http://www.utahtrikes.com/uploads/utrecenttrikepics/3127/pic/9.jpg)
For 3, you can also compare against v6 tyres, which i believe should be same kendas: http://www.bicyclesg.com/uploads/1/8/5/5/18555668/6952715_orig.jpg
let me know if you have any idea about this or are facing similar issues with your V8?
thanks

Hi all,
Newbie here. I'm looking for a foldie, budget around $400. Plan to purchase the Vert 8, any review / advice on this? or do you have any foldie to recommend? Thanks.
1) to ride at PCN / parks. 2) main purpose to exercise & keep fit. 3) my weight around 110kg.
