Topic: [NEWS] Plans Unveiled for Cycling Network in the City

A comprehensive bicycle network will connect housing estates from all directions to the city centre in the near future. The key to this network will be the 450m long Bencoolen Street that has a cycling path paved and 125 bicycle lots built.

It will connect to Queenstown in the west, Bishan in the north and the central cycling network which in turn connects to Marina Bay and the eastern part of the Singapore through East Coast Park.

Two Bencoolen Streets have also been converted into footpaths and cycling path to support this network. More improvement works have been completed to make Civic District more friendly for pedestrians. By year 2020, Coleman Street, Armenian Street and Waterloo Street will also be revamped.
