I got a kowa fork in e forum. This Mr Nice guy told me how good is e fork with tip top condition. I totally know nuts about e fork and I was busy in my work n got no time to read on e spec and pic of e fork.
I trusted him n request him to come down to my work place to look for me which is very near his house. And he show me e dumper and did not tell me e steerer is not orignal from e fork. I know nuts about it so I thought is like this. So I brought from him.
After few days I brought my bike to fix. The mechanic who going to install e bike for me say e streerer is nt orignal from e fork. Got two extra screw on it. I call him up and ask him abt it. He got abit shock when I ask about it . Then he abit nt happy and say u nt happy can refund n he says he dn wan ppl to say him anyhow sell things.
I told him can refund today. He says cannot say he very busy with work. I told him just
take n go. He after tat say he gt no cash. Tell me monday. I tell him monday I need to work. Hw I knw if monday he run away n dn wan to pick up my phone.He say he is been very fair to me. In a very attiude tone. I told him off. He is famous in togoparts. He tell me off go ahead to post wat I wan to say.
So I wrote it here with no regrets. So wat he is ex national DH rider.

I believe you are not blaming togoparts. Such thing do happen anywhere/anytime (sometimes the seller may not know it himself until you told him)
Example: I had bought my current bike real cheap because the seller may not knew that changing the tire can make it roadworthy again

Just some fork basics. The steerer is usually attached to the crown and stanchions of the fork as a 1 piece. So you don't just change the steerer alone, that would not be easy. So if you have a non original steerer, that would mean that the entire steerer/crown/stanchion assembly has been changed. The specs are a bit different between the various fork manufacturers, so it's not like you can just pop in a FOX steerer/crown/stanchion into a Kowa fork. So if you have no scratches on your current stanchions, that means you got a fresh upper assembly at a used price. Like that, also want to complain?
Where are the extra screws located? Steerer is just steerer. Are you talking about the a double crown setup with the extra screws there? For the folks who chimed in to sound sympathetic to the TS, like DANJAKROYD - " sorry abt the kowa fork, you can elaborate more so we can try to understand" so you don't really know what the TS is saying, but happy to jump on his bandwagon. WTH. pls
howiesx14 - Pls try to understand that the togoparts marketplace actually serves a lot of functions. As you are a self-proclaimed noob about forks.... yet the Kowa forks are not cheap. So I'm sure you did some quick search and realized you were getting a good deal, hence the desire to buy, even though you say you know nuts about the fork. I won't say buyer beware, coz in this case you're dealing with a repeat seller. I, myself, am a frequent buyer and seller on togoparts. Yes, my reputation matters to me, and to most of the other hardcore riders I know who sell their stuff here. We won't intentionally sell defective items as we are still riders and will hopefully remain riders for a few more decades. Selling stuff here is not a one-time thing to make money from an unsuspecting noob. I am not running a bike business, but still need to occasionally clear some cupboard space and sell off stuff that I don't need anymore. Only short-term thinking buyers (who may act the same way as sellers) would see a togoparts transaction as a win-lose situation. But if I sell my XT rear d for $50, after I've upgraded to a Saint rear d, it's a USED XT rear d, so expecting it to be in pristine condition is not realistic. Same if I sell my '09 amd '10 Fox forks as I upgrade to '11 models. It can be, and should be a win-win situation for both buyer and seller.

Yes it was my fault for not telling him that I had changed the steerer tube.
It was changed as the old one was ovalised and it been replaced by Sulaiman of Rebound Centre.
I agreed to refund but telling him it would have to be on Monday.
Is that a bad thing?
I know it's not immediate but I am agreeing to the refund but then after seeing him post this thread, maybe I just should forget about the refund coz he already say I cheated him!

First - think about the particular part in question. Kowa fork. You need to know who brought it in and if they do sponsorships. So in this case, please go ahead and apologise - profusely.
Second - what kind of sponsorship do each bikeshop or distributor provide? For example, Kian Hong (Fox fork distributor) for a while was providing free servicing for national riders' fox forks. That's nice, but I don't recall any national rider offering to service your fox forks for $50 and pocketing the difference.
Third - there are bike parts and bike parts. In the past few months, I picked up a Shimano M647 pedal and Point One Racing stem from the person in question. Probably also other small parts I've forgotten. The parts a bit used? Sure. But I'm paying used prices for them. So if you have a problem with that, nobody is pointing a gun at your head to buy. But please, after buying, don't bitch about imagined slights, faults whatever.
