Topic: Tour de Malaysia: Sabah

The end of my ride in Sabah marked the end of a tour which took years to complete: to cycle in every Malaysian state. I starting cycling in West Malaysia in 2003, and came back for more every year. Having learnt more, I ventured further afield each year and ended with Sabah in the east.

I’m glad I left Sabah till last. The distances are more manageable than Sarawak, but there are serious climbs here (after all, this is Kinabalu land), and the main roads can be narrower than in the west. If I'd started my explorations in Sabah, that might have been the first and last trip! Far better to start in West Malaysia, and not just because it's nearer

Congrats on another milestone.

Nice blog too and seems like you've been to many places.

Do you go alone?

Sometimes alone, sometimes with others. My most intense rides are solo.
