Hi bro Mauler thanks , unfortunately mines a clamp on...and yes, its to do with the frame geometry. : ( i think i will remove the FD as well as the smaller chainring and change my shifters to TT brake and also TT shifters to run the RD but needs a little improvising. I believe you meant the chain dropped from 53T chainring driving the largest cog. Just avoid engaging the largest two cog will avoid the chain dropping. Mine only RD left on the bike.
If your are going on Single front and rear be it 8/9/10/11 speed, If your front chain drop tends to drop from outer?
then is advise to have a chain guide of bash guard u call it to prevent it from dropping outer.
if the chain drop from inner, your rear dee and casstte and front chain ring alignment is not straight enough.
if you are doing it like a FR mtb, get a chain guard like E thirteen type to prevent the drop. it provide good review so far... of course there are different brand.
But for folding, mostly solved this problem but adding a chain or ring guard on the outer crank.
