hi,

i'm planning to go cycling but i dont know what bike is good for starters.
my budget is just $450 below and prefer foldable bikes because i want to be able to bring it in the MRT.

i have been browsing and researching for foldies and i narrowed it down to two.

NEW 2015 SPECIAL EDITION 451-TT-7S-D

vs

Vert V8

can anyone please give some feedback regarding these two bikes so maybe it can help me decide which one to buy?

LOL, of course the java one is better . Better wheel hubs, seat, clamps & brakes.

Vert8 is disc brake leh. Anyway I tried both bikes before and still looking around.
the handle of java decaf is uncomfortable to hold for long leh.

I started with a folding bike with 406 wheels after upgrade to 451 , more efficient for long distance ride. If you are looking for any foldy , best start with 451 and no need to spend extra money to upgrade again!

well, good new 451 wheels bike cost at least 1k (dun say 2nd hand lar). hefty budget if u are just into cycling and not all neighbourhood bike shops carry 22" wheel tyres. so may need to go to speciality bike shops, which is a disadvantage if your area does not have one

I haven't try vert V8 before but I am impress with Java TT built eventhough it is a chinese brand and it doesn't look much . It is quite sturdy.

I bought one for my friend not long ago . The finishing and workmanship of the joints are still not very good  but not bad for price.

java tt 7 uses disc brakes which some reviewers mentioned disc brakes on foldies are prone to damage...
