Topic: Advice on wheelset upgrading. Dahon Route 2014"20"

Posted on: 2nd Jun 2014 7:42 PM    Quote and Reply

Hi i need help with advice and knowledge on wheelsets. I am in need of upgrading my dahon route 2014's stock wheelset. With a budget of 200 or less.

What wheelsets should i consider?
Where would those be sold?
If possible, could any of you provide me with links on brands of wheelsets or a foldie wheelset hierarchy.
It is difficult to understand the wheelset brands out in the market and their so called "ranking" in the market.

I already know about Kinetix Comp wheels but that is a little too expensive for my current budget at the moment.

Some information about how i ride, i generally go mostly on pcns and occasionally roads. Average speed about 20km/h.

Thank you very much!
Appreciate any help i can get! :)

Thanks for the offer! but i'm using a 406 Wheelset.

I did some research on those brands and most of them range to 300 and up. I know it is important to invest in a good wheelset but because this is an urgent need and i dont have the budget for those wheelsets now. Although i'm most interested in the Kinetix Comps!

However during my research, i wasnt able to find a clear price tag for Litepro wheelsets and novatec, can anyone direct me towards any links or bikeshops that carry those so i can an estimated pricing?

Thanks so much for the help!

Thanks for the help! Now my problem is that because my Route is a 6 speed freewheel, if i change my wheelset to a Litepro with novatec hubs, i will have to change my cassette, chain, deraileur and shifter as well!

why do you need an entire wheelset? can you just buy the front wheel instead and leave the back alone??

even this shop who is in the US sells all kinds of Dahon Front wheels and you don't have to buy a set which i think is silly.
