Topic: Java Fit vs Vert V8 vs Tern Link D8

Bought my 2nd JAVA FIT 16.. So comfortble i dont tink of any other bike brand to buy besides the cool Java Fit. I dont like Dahon looks. I do consider Tern but after i read a forum recently about Tern break into half, i finalised with the tried & true JAVA FIT purchase instead. So far i encounter no problems with JAVA FIT, except aiming for a few upgrades in future. Am very happy with JAVA FIT..

Hi,

Can anyone recommend tyres (406) with better grip on wet roads? I'm riding a Vert V8, currently on stock Kenda tyres

Schwalbe Marathon is good but still it cant guarantee 100% safety on wet slippery surfaces especially concrete pavements. I'm riding motorbike too & watever top end tyre i used in the market, when comes to wet road i sometimes skid too especially during turning & braking. Same ting to bicycle, when its wet ride slow with patience & caution. Kenda Kwest is good too, or try Schwalbe Marathon..

Thanks for the reply. The stock tyres are Kenda Kwest. I will probably try out Schwalbe Marathon.

good choice, although kwest is fast, i kinda find it scary & insecure when i ride it, though nothing happened to me.  eventually i swapped it for big apple

Vert V8 does not have any magnets to fix the handlebar in place when it folds, it is only secured by a velcro strap. As I folded my V8 and pushed it around, I realise this caused part of my left handgrip to be destroyed by the front disk brake.

I was wondering if there are Vert owners with a similar problem?

its not only on vert 8 but all verts itself, thats why what u pay for is what u get. if u want bikes with good folding, etc, birdie, brompton, tern or dahon...etc. be prepared to pay more, but gives u good folding mechanisims
