All cycling experts, fans and kakis

I am leisure cycle. With some influence of friends and impressed by our PCN, I am thinking of getting 2 hybrid bicycles, 1 for my wife and 1 for myself.

I am considering either getting Canondale or Ridgeback and budget in the range of SGD1.5k.

Any comment and recommendation?

Thank you.

What is the distance you plan to ride on the PCN? If over 40 km it is better to import a recumbent bike to save the pain of sitting on a saddle for too long. With better connectivity of the PCN there are much longer routes to explore and you will want a comfortable and slow ride where you can chat with your wife while cycling. Consider it.
