Topic: Shimano Ultegra R8000 vs Campagnolo Potenza groupset

Posted on: 3rd Feb 2019 1:49 PM    Quote and Reply

Hello Folks, I am building a bike based on Pinarello Dogma 65.1. The groupset I have in mind is either Ultegra 8000 or Campy Potenza. I have been riding an Ultegra 6800 for the last couple of years. I have never used a Campy groupset. But since these two groupsets are almost equally priced and I have slight inclination to fit an italian groupset on the italian frame I am exploring the Potenza.

Campy users, what do you think of this comparison ?
Who would be best guys to buy and install Campagnolo groupsets from ? Is it more complex to align and maintain a Campagnolo groupset ? Almost every bike shop knows how to handle Shimano groupsets, so if Campy requires special tools and skills to maintain then I need to know.

Please suggest.

I am a user of Campy and Shimano..

If u ask me i prefer Campy. I used Super Record11, Chorus, Anthena before. Ultegra and Duraace oso

The Grip is more erogonomic and the handle don't tilt when braking. The upshift and downshift is better too.

Don need special skills or tools to work with.

Only negative is pricing..

That said i yet to try on Potenzza..
