Topic: Need help bike feels slow

Hi friends 
I feel my bike is slow and heavy could it be because of my wheels ,I am on 26" x 2.5 Maxxis hookworm.
I use the mountain bike more for road .
your comments will be appreciated .

Fat 2.4 & above tyres are meant for "downhills" where U just have to let the momentum pull U down the path. Choose a more slicker tyres if U mainly use roads most of the time. I personally undstand "thick tyres" look cool, i know. But its normally thick heavy & are meant for rough downhills. Theres decent amount of MTB tyres dat suit roads too such as Rapid Rons, Race Kings, High Rollers etc.. Size wise, opt for 2.25 0r 2.35.. Have fun..

aluminium body frame or steel frame??tyres 2.5" is abit wide can be quite slow...tyres thread pattern also have something to do to run on the road. 
Anyway I'm on mtb too, running 27.5x2.0 tyres running at speed 18km to 25km on road and occasionally can hit 30 or 35km...that when i'm go empty...
btw what ur speed??

MTB are dedicated ones. Road bikes are more suitable for the roads.

Hi it's a aluminum body , top is 21km so far just normal riding.

So should I go for 26"x 2.0 or lower and tubeless or tube ?

2.0 ok also, and tube or tubless doesnt matter, it doesnt contribute so much to ur "slow bike" issue dat much for normal road riding/cruising with a MTB with speed of 21km/h. But ur HOOKWORM 2.5, kinda heavy for normal usage.. 2.0 slicker but "not so nice" looking, will end up looking more like a hybrid bike. But hey, hybrid are FAST though...!! Have fun..
