Rules and Etiquette: Calendar of Events
Members are reminded to conduct themselves well when
using this facility (as with other services in togoparts.com) The Terms
of Service of the website on which it is offered applies here. Moderation
may be done from time to time, at the administration's discretion.
Specific Events service rules:
· An organized event
(by a third party, third party organization) must be suggested.
Such ought to be suggested events will be removed if they are added as
a "road" or "off-road" ride events.
· Profiteering is not
allowed for ride events. Eg. Collecting fee for organizing rides.
If you represent an organization (commercial
or not) which charges for an event, Suggest the Event instead.
· Inappropriate events
will be removed.
General FAQ
Q: How many rides can I start at any one time?
A: You may start a maximum of 3 events at any one time. Once you
are organizing 3 rides, you will not be able to add another event. Once
an event is transpired, you will then be able to add another. You may
also request the event admin to delete the event to free up your limit
(this will earse the event completely from the calendar). Indicating that
your event is "cancelled" will not free up a slot, but will
give time for your participants enough lead time to come to know about
it.
Q: Is there a limit to how many events I can suggest?
A: No. there isn't. But if you indicate that you wish to claim
ownership for the event after it has been cleared by the event admins,
your ownership limit applies.
Q: Why can't I join an event even if I'm logged in?
A: Weather you can join an event depends on the Event's Status.
"Announcement", "Registration elsewhere", "Event
Closed", "Event Cancelled" statuses do not allow a person
to join the event. However, an existing participant of the event (if any),
will be allowed to pull out of the event or update his status/comments.
Q: Why can't I add an event other than a "road"
or "off-road" ride?
A: You may suggest these (organized, third party) events other
than your informal rides.
Q: Why must I specify the timezone for my event?
A: Given the possibility that there might be overseas events or
events started by other members in other countries, there is a need to
specify the timezone of where the event will be held. Hence all events
time you are looking at are not localized to your area. So if you are
participating in a race overseas, make sure you're not late for the event!
Singapore's timezone is GMT +8
Q: Can I transfer ownership of my event to my friend,
so he can take over?
A: Yes, but you will need to ask the event admins to help you with
that.
Q: What's with the "confirmed" or "unconfirmed"
participation option when joining the event?
A: I suppose you needn't wait for the person to turn up before
proceeding with your event if his/her status is "unconfirmed".
The organizer of the event can find different definitions for it, just
look out for what he/she has to say.
Q: Can I forbid a member to join the event?
A: No. although the capability is catered for, we wish to foster
community building thru events. You shouldn't be hindering people from
wanting to ride with you anyway. Shame on you!. ;p However, should a person
needs to be forcefully removed from the attendance list (perhaps the participant
too ill to operate his PC), you may ask the events admin to help you with
that.
Q: Who is EventsAgent?
A: EventsAgent is a special account dedicated to manage suggested
rides or to take over events that nobody would want to hold on to anymore.
Eg. If you were to suggest a race event, you may not choose to own it.
However, since you are not organizing it per se, EventsAgent will take
over the ownership of your suggested event. Usually a member of the admin
will operate this account.
