Q: What are the dates and distance of the #TOGO1117 and #TOGOHALF challenge?

A: For #TOGO1117, the Challenge period starts from 9th Sep 2017 (Saturday) 0000hrs to 5th Nov 2017 (Sunday) 2359hrs. To be a finisher, clock more than 1117km within these dates. To become an Elite Finisher, clock more than 2,517km

Q: What are the individual and Team Achievement categories are there for me to aim for?

A: This year we have more than 20 Individual and Team Achievements up for grabs!

Q: When is the closing date for registration?

A: Last day for registration for #TOGO1117 is 17th Sep 2017 2359 hours and last day for registration for #TOGOHALF is 1st Oct 2017 2359 hours. We recommend you register as soon as possible so that there is ample time for you to complete the distance of 1117km (#TOGO1117)/557km (#TOGOHALF). If you register after 9th Sep 2017, we will only recognise the distance you clock from the next ride after the day / time you sign up.

Q: How much is the participation fee?

A: #TOGO1117 Full Pass – SGD 57, #TOGO1117 Non-Jersey Pass – SGD 35, #TOGOHALF Pass – SGD 30

Q: : I have paid for the Challenge, how will I know if my registration is successful?

A: You should receive an email notification, almost immediately, if you joined the by-invitation only #TOGO1117 and #TOGOHALF Strava Club. If you are sure your payment went through, please contact us at togo1117@togoparts.com so we can verify.

Q: I live outside of Singapore, can I still sign up and join?

A: Yes, you may. #TOGO1117 and #TOGOHALF is not limited to Singapore.

Q: Do I get a Jersey (#TOGO1117)/T-shirt (#TOGOHALF) if I do not complete 1117km (#TOGO1117)/557km (#TOGOHALF) within the dates of the Challenge.

A: No. Only Finishers get the Jersey/T-shirts. It’s not tough to complete the challenge, go for it!

Q: : I signed up, what's next?

A: Ensure that you are registered in the STRAVA #TOGO1117 and #TOGOHALF Club and start riding from 9th Sep 2017 0000hrs onwards using your STRAVA App to clock the ride! The #TOGO1117 and #TOGOHALF Leaderboards will be up to reflect your distance clocked in from 9th Sep 2017 onwards.

Q: If I live outside of Singapore, do I really get my Finisher Jersey delivered Free to me?

A: YES! We ship your Jersey to any Country in the World FREE! The Jersey will be sent via Overseas Registered Mail Postage. Allow 7-14 days after the 13th Nov 2017 for postage to happen.
If you wish to explore other express delivery options we will be able to accommodate your request after additional payment to your preferred courier company is made. We will be able to do this only after the 13th Nov 2017.

Q: How do I collect my 1117 Finisher Jersey?

A: We will send another notice through email and in the Togoparts Forums to let you know the exact day and time of the Finisher Event held at the TOGOPARTS BIKE FEST 2017 @ SUNTEC from 10th to 12th Nov 2017.

Q: What if I can't make it on that day?

A: We will send your Finisher Jersey via registered mail to the address registered. See also "Q: If I live outside of Singapore, do I really get my Finisher Jersey delivered Free to me?" above.

Q: Can I request for a refund?

A: There will be no refunds made once a participant has signed up. In the event where the participant is unable to complete the challenge due to unforeseen circumstances, no refunds will be made.

Q: When can I download my certificate?

A: Digital Finisher Certificates are made available after 8th Nov 2017, after verification of all rides and confirmation of the leaderboard. You can download it at the leaderboard under your personal stats.

Tracking Activity Questions

Q: Where can I check my progress against other participants?

A: You can check the #TOGO1117 and #TOGOHALF Leaderboards that will go live after the 9th Sep 2017. The leaderboard in Strava serves as a means for logging your rides, we will not be basing on the distance shown in the Strava leaderboard as some participants log rides in before the start of the challenge.

Q: My ride does not show up on the #TOGO1117 or #TOGOHALF Leaderboards.

A: The Leaderboards refresh every 10 minutes. Please wait for your rides to be updated. If any irregularities occur, please email us at togo1117@togoparts.com. Please allow up to 48 to 72 hours for us to respond.

Q: How can I be sure I'm logging my distance for #TOGO1117 or #TOGOHALF?

A: As long as you are a member of the #TOGO1117 and #TOGOHALF club in Strava, you are a part of the challenge. You will receive an email invitation or notification that registration was successful when you sign up as well. For participants who already registered and have yet to join the #TOGO1117 and #TOGOHALF club, kindly contact us, as it is required for you to join the club to track distances covered.

Q: I am a registered participant but I do not see my Username on the Leaderboard?

A: You need to sign up to Strava and request to join the #TOGO1117 and #TOGOHALF club. This is so that we will be able to track your progress for the event. Write in to us if you still encounter any issues.

Q: Can I log / ride multiple times to add up to 1117km?

A: Yes. Even to the market/work/bikeshop and back. Just remember to log your rides with the Strava app, or upload them to Strava if you are using another device for recording your rides. Just make sure the devices are Strava-compatible!

Q: Can I measure my distance using other apps or devices?

A: We require all participants to log their rides using Strava. You can use tracking devices like Garmin and upload your activities to Strava. If you have logged your activity with another app and not Strava, the system will not recognize uploaded activity.

Q: Sometimes I ride for very long distances. How do I ensure my battery does not run out?

A: To conserve your battery, let the Strava app run in the background while it is recording your activity. Here's a few steps you can follow:

Turn on location services for your mobile phone:

iOS: Settings → Privacy → Location Services → Set to ON

Android (Samsung 6.0.1): Settings → Privacy & Safety → Set to ON

Turn on your Strava app's location services:

iOS: Settings → Strava → Location → Set to "While Using" or "Always"

Android: On by default.

When you go out for a ride, hit record and turn off your mobile phone's screen.

Q: Can I do indoor rides on a trainer or stationary bike and log that ride?

A: No, you can only ride outside, and log your ride with the Strava app or a GPS-enabled device such as a Garmin and sync it to Strava. We will not recognise indoor riding.

Q: Can I add my rides manually?

A: No, your activity must have GPS tracking and a route in order to count.

Q: Why do some of my rides don't register?

A: Due to restrictions from Strava, rides can be missed or do not register.

1. If rides are uploaded late (a few days after the ride), especially for riders who use tracking devices like Garmin. We advise you to upload your rides and acitivities at the soonest convenient time.

2. If profile is not public, our leaderboard will not be able to pull your activities and update it automatically. We advise you to change your privacy settings to public.
Strava web/app → Settings → Privacy → untick ALL checkbox

If the Ride is not reflected on the #TOGO1117 or #TOGOHALF Leaderboards but has an entry in Strava, write in to us at togo1117@togoparts.com with the 1) Name of your ride and 2) the Strava Ride ID where available.

Q: The distance recorded by Strava is inaccurate, can you add the missing distance into that activity?

A: We are not able to edit the details recorded by Strava. We do advise participants to ensure that their GPS signal is strong throughout the ride and consistently check that Strava is recording.

Finisher Jersey Questions

Q: If I clock more than 2,517km do I get just the ELITE Finisher Jersey or Both ELITE and Regular Jerseys?

A: If you clock >2,517km you get just the ELITE Finisher Jersey.

Q: Is there an ELITE Finisher Jersey for the #TOGOHALF Challenge. If so, what is the distance required to obtain it?

A: There is no ELITE Finisher Jersey for the #TOGOHALF Challenge. Participants who clock > 557km will get the Finisher T-shirt. As such, there is no ELITE distance for #TOGOHALF.

Q: Can we change category from Togo1117 Challenge to TogoHALF Challenge during the midst of the challenge if I feel that I cannot complete the distance for Togo1117 Challenge?

A: This is subjected to case by case situation. E.g Serious Accident that affects your completion of the challenge. Kindly email us and we will make a decision on this.

Q: How do I collect my Finisher Jersey?

A: We will send another notice through email and other channels possible on the collection of Finisher Jersey after the end of the challenge.

Q: What if I can't make it on that day?

A: We will send it via registered mail to the address registered if you stay in Singapore. Additional charges may occur depending on the package sent.

Q: Can I change the size of the Jersey if it does not fit me?

A: Unfortunately, that cannot be done as we order the exact number of jerseys strictly based on size upon registration. However you may write in for us to update your Jersey Size before 16th Oct 2017.

Q: How good is the quality of the Finisher Jersey?

A: We will work to improve on a better quality jersey for #TOGO1117 which will be similar to the quality and feel of the #TOGO517 and #TOGO817 jerseys.

Q: I signed up for the #TOGO1117 Non-Jersey Pass. Can I still get a Finisher Jersey upon completion of the Challenge?

A: Yes you can. Participants who wish to obtain the Finisher’s Jersey upon completion but signed up for the #TOGO1117 Non-Jersey Pass will be required to make their intentions known to togo1117@togoparts.com latest by 30th Sep 2017 2359hrs. A separate fee of SGD 40 will be charged upon completion of the Event.

Strava App Questions

Q: I use Garmin Connect / Movescount to track my rides. How do I link them to Strava?

A: You can log into your Strava account and click on this link: https://www.strava.com/upload/device Alternatively, you can check this out: https://strava.zendesk.com/forums/20539803-Uploading-to-Strava

Q: Is it necessary to use the Stravaiphone/android app to record my rides if i have another device such as a Garmin that I normally use?

A: No, you can continue to use your existing preferred device such as a Garmin Edge to record your rides, as long as you can sync and upload them to Strava. If you use both to record, we will adapt to recognise the distance from only 1 source.

Other Questions

Q: Why is Togoparts holding this event?

A: Our aim is to get everyday people interested in Cycling. Holding a virtual challenge for the community to the quickest and most accessible way for people to get involved.

Q: I think someone is using the Strava App on an e-bike / motorbike / car

A: It's a personal honour challenge as well as a physical one. We think cyclists have integrity and are honest about challenging themselves. Togoparts.com reserves the rights to ignore the strava entry due to dishonesty. Base on case by case basis we have the rights to disqualify any participants at our sole discretion or should we find a participant in violation of terms and conditions of the challenge repetitively.

Q: How do you verify if the rides is legit

A: Our team goes thru every single ride session for each participant on weekly basis. Towards the end of the challenge, these checks increase in frequency. If you spot dubious activities, you are welcome to write in to allow us to investigate. Togo1117@togoparts.com

Q: What if the Strava Entries are overlapping rides?

A: Dealt based on case by case basis if it should be validated. For exceptional cases we will modify the distance of the 2nd ride. For eg. The 1st ride ends at 10:22 and the 2nd ride starts at 10:07. We will take the difference in time (22-07) = 15mins. From there take the AVG speed of both rides [(8.55 + 7.87)/2] and calculate the distance to be removed from the 2nd ride.

Q: Rides that are against the Singapore Traffic Rules, for e.g riding on expressway?

A: The entire ride will not be recognised if there’s any section of the ride activity is ridden on a Singaporean Expressway. As riding on the highway in Singapore is not allowed. We encourage completely the challenge by having rider to riding safely by abiding to the Traffic Regulation of Singapore.

Q: Why are some of the postings being removed on TogopartsLeaderboard comment and Strava club?

A: Togoparts.com will choose to remove the postings that are inappropriate for the discussion. Further actions will be taken if we feel that the postings are affecting the event.
