Duarte, California, February 25, 2014 - DAHON, the world leader in folding bicycles, brings several new high-performance models from the drawing board to the cat walk. The models will be showcased at the Taipei Cycle Show, -8 at TWTC Nangang Exhibition Center, Taipei, Taiwan. The bikes will be shown at the DAHON booth, S0614, on the 6th floor.
Constantly refining designs and features in order to improve their models, DAHON turns loose the Curl, Clinch and Ciao Electric, alongside the EEZZ 3 Speed and the Qix. These stylish new models will available at retail in 2015.
With an array of design features, the Curl represents pure innovation. The Curl features a rear wheel fold design to bring it and the asymmetrical top tube together seamlessly. DAHON patented V clamp technology holds the front fold together and the new forward stow saddle shaves off extra length; a combination that creates a bike that can squeeze into places that other smaller wheeled folding bikes might not fit. DAHON Dalloy frame tubing provides stiffness and reliability, while the internal Shimano 7-speed hub and double wall 1" wheels create a nimble ride.
The Clinch is one of the lighter, more robust full-sized folding bikes on the market. It utilizes DAHON’s Lock-Jaw hinge technology providing rigidity, and DAHON’s new patent-pending inverted handle post design to save weight. This also helps to create a stiffer steering system. The Clinch features a 10-speed SRAM Red drive train, FSA SLK BB 30 crankset and DAHON’s exclusive quick release pedals, which all contribute to sharp shifting with extremely light components. Carbon 451 wheels with sealed cartridge hubs and Schwalbe tires, round out one of the faster folding bikes.
The Qix takes the design advantages of two 16” bikes, the Jifo and the EEZ, and applies them to a 20” bike, creating a ride with a larger seating position and range. Vertical folding technology allows the Qix to roll directly into a folded position with the minimum of effort and time. A rear carrier with in-built guide wheel allows it to roll easily along when folded. Finally an 8-speed SRAM drive train and DAHON’s micro dual Pivot caliper brakes get you where you need to go quickly and safely.
Combing DAHON patented folding technology, a low-step through frame and a TranzX pedal assist e-system creates the Ciao Electric. The removable battery pack tucked into the frame enables cyclists to ride with or without power assist, while the Sturmey Archer 5-speed internal drive train allows them to tackle all types of rides with ease.
The EEZZ 3 speed builds on the previous EEZZ model’s best features, updating them for the 2015 model. Folding and storing this bike is as ‘easy’ as the name suggests with DAHON’s Jiffold folding technology. As with the previous model, this bike also features a streamlined premium Dalloy hydroformed frame with concealed hinge, along with custom designed narrow wheels and drivetrain. The addition of a 3-speed Shimano compact rear derailleur increases this bike’s range, whilst shifting is done with the flick of the heel, eliminating the need for a shifter and cable.
There will also be a short press meeting at the DAHON booth, S0614, on, at for important announcements concerning new developments.
